It would be very rare to see an olympian say a few years ago but they have only gained access on the 36 in the last year and their is usually an ALX300 on the route anyway due to the unreliability of the enviros, but at least stagecoach are doing something for passengers on the 36.

Olympians were regulars at one point a few years ago but then when the Enviro300s arrived they became rarer. As for their appearance on these 'extra' duties, they are only temporary until another Trident is ready for the road.

The first day of the additional 36 workings has been a bit of a mixed deals from information that I can find online - the Park End starting working was covered by Olympian 16834 while it appears the Hartlepool starting working was Trident 17026 (the only one ready for service) which has apparently been sighted dumped on Stockton Road between Stockton and Middlesbrough.
17032 is now at Sunderland presumably for repairs/repaint. I Seen it heading along A1231 about 1pm

Be for repaint, as the two most recent arrivals still retain their 'frequento' branding from their Hull days.
Today's extra 36 workings were both Olympians, 16833 doing the Park End starter (which does both trips from Park End and the 1031 from Hartlepool to Park End) while 16840 did the 1101 from Hartlepool to Park End. Trident 17025 was used on a school run this morning before being taken for fitment of radio.

Now-denamed MAN Enviro300 24113 was on the 13, this just leaves 24114 as the only named example.
Trident 17025 made its first appearance in service today on the Park End starting extra 36 while the other working (which, different to previous know information, does the 1101 from Hartlepool and the 1238 from Park End) was 16834.

Since Tuesday, a change to duties means, barring one trip at 1730, the 52 and 58 now operate as standalone services again for the first time since Summer 2009.
The extra 36 duties today were operated by 16834 (the 0853 starter from Park End) and 16838 (the 1101 starter at Hartlepool Marina). Additional, it appears 16835 also covered a 36.
