A very rare sighting this afternoon/evening was that of Volvo B10BLE 21105 on the 36. It had replaced a very late running 24112, and is infact still out now, will be the 2048 from Hartlepool Centre.
Unusual, yes. Rare, no.
It's an Olympic Reserve vehicle so can appear wherever its is required. We are now less than 8 weeks from the Olympics and vehicles have started moving. That's in addition to the unreliability of MANs.

Rare, yes. Only the thrid time this year a B10BLE has been on the 36.
Yes but up until now vehicles weren't being prepared for the chaos of the Olympics.

Stockton' Volvo Olympian 16831/3 are on-loan to South Shields to assist on the X34 due to today's Metro Drivers strike. However, 16831 has already broken down in Newcastle.
Meanwhile, back on Teesside, 36-branded MAN Enviro300 24101 is out on the 11/34. Now, that is an unusual sight as, normally, Enviro300s usually appear on the 13 or 52/58 when not on the 36 (normally are changeovers for Olympians during School term).
New style fare advertisements have started to appear on buses in Newcastle. Far more professional-looking than the old version. Mega Deal... with full circular fare information - £3.70 for dayrider and second one for Megariders.

External or internal? If internal, Teesside's Enviro300 24109 has had the new internal ones for the past month or so (had them applied for the 500 Group Running Day back in late April).
Various Teesside vehicles now have the 'Stagecoach Smart' window sticker to advise the smartcard.
36-branded Enviro300 24102 was used on the 52s this evening as replacement for 16836, itself a changeover earlier in the day.

The new style fare advertisements are external.
