Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100.
A member of the Democratic Party, he served a singular term as POTUS from 1977 until he was succeeded by Ronald Reagan in 1981. He turned 100 in October earlier this year, but had been undergoing treatment for cancer since April 2023. He had succeeded George H. W. Bush (who died in November 2018 at the age of 94) as the oldest living former president in 2019.
