Shane MacGowan, of the Pogues has passed away at
the age of 65
Alistair Darling, the Labour chancellor who steered the UK through the 2008 financial crisis, has died aged 70.
It has also been announced that former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has passed away at the grand old age of 100 years old at his home in Conneticut yesterday. 4 people in 24 hours...wow.
Former Labour minister Glenys Kinnock, an ex-MEP and wife of ex-Labour leader Lord Kinnock, has died at 79, her family said she had "endured Alzheimer's" since a 2017 diagnosis.
American actor Ryan O'Neal, best known for his Oscar-nominated role in 1970 romance Love Story, has died at the age of 82. His family have not shared a cause of death, but O'Neal was diagnosed with chronic leukaemia in 2001 and prostate cancer in 2012.
Actress Shirley Anne Field has died aged 87. She starred in films such as Alfie, opposite Sir Michael Caine, and Saturday Night and Sunday Morning - alongside Albert Finney. She also appeared in a huge number of popular TV series including The Bill, Doctors, Murder She Wrote, Last of the Summer Wine and Upstairs Downstairs.
Actor Steve Halliwell, known for his long-running role as Zak Dingle in Emmerdale from 1994 to 2021 has died at the age of 77.

Laura Lynch - a founding member of the US country music band the Dixie Chicks - has died in a car crash. She was 65. The Texas Department of Public Safety said she died after being involved in a collision between two vehicles near the city of El Paso on Friday.
Ian Pepperell, known for his role as Roy Tucker in The Archers, has died at the age of 53. The actor, who appeared in the BBC Radio 4 drama for more than 20 years, died on Friday after a long illness. He also starred in EastEnders for a short stint in 1993.
Doctor Who and Emmerdale star Richard Franklin has died at the age of 87. A statement announced the actor "passed away peacefully" on the morning of Christmas Day adding he was "fighting a long-term illness". Franklin is best known for for portraying Captain Mike Yates of UNIT in Doctor Who from 1971 until 1974. He also appeared in Crossroads and played businessman Denis Rigg in ITV's Emmerdale.
