Sol Bamba, the former Leeds United, Leicester City, Cardiff City and Hibernian defender, has died at the age of 39. He overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021 during his playing days at Cardiff.
The writer of the cartoon series Danger Mouse, Brian Trueman has died. He died in hospital on Sunday evening after a short illness at the age of 92. Brian Trueman had an illustrious career in television and radio, presenting the BBC children's quiz show Screen Test as well as working at Granada TV. But he was best known for his work with animation company Cosgrove Hall - particularly Danger Mouse which started in 1981 and was voiced by Sir David Jason, as well as Count Duckula and Chorlton and the Wheelies.

Hollywood actor James Earl Jones, best known for voicing Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise has died aged 93.

Kenneth Cope, best known for his roles in Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased), Coronation Street, and Brookside has died at the age of 93.

Tito Jackson, an original member of the Jackson 5 pop group and brother of the late Michael Jackson, has died aged 70.
David Graham, the actor who provided the voice for characters in TV series including Peppa Pig, Thunderbirds and Doctor Who, has died aged 99.
Trailblazing actress Cleo Sylvestre has died aged 79. She was the first black actress to play a leading role at the National Theatre, and to have a regular leading role in a UK soap opera, Crossroads. Sylvestre appeared in TV series including Grange Hill and the Channel 5 reboot of All Creatures Great and Small.
Renowned snooker commentator Clive Everton has died at the age of 87. Everton worked for BBC TV for more than 30 years from the 1970s onwards and was a respected broadcaster and journalist.
Dame Maggie Smith, best known for her roles as Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter film series and as Violet Crawley in Downton Abbey has died at the age of 89.
