What is the normal formation of the services to Hadfield and Glossop as im sure the 323's are three cars and the 319's are 4 cars .

I see. I assume that some of the cascaded class 319/4 will have their first class facilities removed.
These trains will be for manchester to replace the class 323 which will go to London Midland. Then, when the brand new trains (class 331/1, i.e. 4-cars) will be in service in 2018/2019 for Manchester services, the class 319s will be on the Liverpool-Blackpool and Manchester Victoria-Blackpool services. Is this correct?
Have to wonder if these will be as unreliable as the 319/3s..

Yes. I do wonder whether the 319's presently with LM will be swapped with the remaining Northern 323's as there are only 12 319's due whereas Northern presently have 17 323's.

That is correct but the 319's and their subsequent replacements In South Manchester will be 4-cars.

The franchise announcement said cascaded 4 car EMUs might temporarily be used on the Glossop route from December 2017 until new EMUs arrive. However, Porterbrook have said the 17 x 323s can stay with Northern until 2018/2019 so if 319s go on to Glossop it'll likely mean 323s will go on to another Northern service until the new trains arrive - possibly a 6 car 323 working on Manchester Airport to Blackpool or Hazel Grove to Preston until the new CAF EMUs arrive?

The 319/0s, 319/2s and 319/4s are decent units in my opinion
So really, These should be far superior than the mark 3s

I doubt they'll be much better, if at all. London Midland have examples from every subclass apart from the /3s, and their batch has had a start as similarly disastrous as Northern's.
The /2s have by far the best interiors of the class, with vastly superior seating to the /3s, but that's about it.
The Northern Class 319s are supposed to be undergoing a much more thorough refurbishment than the one they currently have, so perhaps mechanical improvements will be incorporated into this.
