Thanks.
By the way, what time did the 150139 start to replace the failed 319 unit?

Did 150139 came from Allerton Depot or a previous service?
Last Friday at around 9pm I saw a 319 on the viaduct at Stockport heading south then another, possibly the same one havnig reversed, heading north 5 minutes later. Both had Northern livery. I suppose they were on driver trainer duties pending their replacement of 323s in due course.

If it was an hour later about 2200 then it would be the one that stables at Stockport overnight,no knowledge of any driver training in that area.

319s will not be replacing 323s on Crewe/Alderley Edge/Stoke/Macclesfield services. The new 331s will replace the 323s on those routes in 2018 - all 17 x 323s will remain with Northern until the end of 2018. Some 319s will be used temporarily on Glossop services but not before the North TPE recast has occurred due to pathing issues with slower accelerating 319s.

It is good that these routes will therefore not be "demoted" to using older 319s in place of current 323s. As the line to Glossop does duplicate part of the TPE route to Leeds and beyond it makes sense to let the changeover to 319s coincide with the planned recast.
