For the forseeable future it will be the 'old guard' of Tridents/MANs. I would imagine Morecambe will get more Scania Enviro400s allocated on the 2013/4 order...
I was in Keswick at 12.30pm yesterday when open-top Olympian came in from Seatoller on service 78. It seemed to have a problem as after a few phone calls, the driver "borrowed" Solo 47721 during its lunchtime layover to cover the 12.25 78. 16329 was then parked up. No sign of o/t Trident 17217 which was on the service last week.

There seemed to be an extra Solo on the 77/77A as both 47016 and 47474 were on it probably because of the road closure at Whinlatter.

Eventually 16329 left out of service and afterwards 47722 arrived, presumably to replace it.

On the A66 earlier I saw an Olympian on tow heading east but I could not identify it. It was not one of Carlisle's as I saw all four in service (16336 on 38 Silloth - very rare, 16337 on 104 and 16343 on 108 - both out of Penrith, and 16343 on 554 Keswick) so it was probably a Lillyhall one.

Finally, back in Carlisle, 22137 was on the 61 - the first time I have seen one of the ex-Manchester ALX300s out on service.
22137 was the first one out, on its first day yesterday after just coming up from Morecambe. 22134 is out in service today after prep yesterday. 22160 is still parked up outside, the other 4 from Manchester are in bodyshop/paintshop, 22139 should be done by now though.

47474 was in workshops later in the afternoon after 47722 had been in there in the morning.
can someone confirm if 22611 was at the open day in 2012 at lillyhall please as the is a photo on the net with details saying it was taken at the open day in 2012,i did not see it if it was
Yes it was - after all it is a Lillyhall based vehicle!
At the time it was being rubbed down ready for repaint.
Tour of Britain Stage 4 Carlisle to Blackpool.

Was at the King of the Mountains 1 finish at Shap Fell today - part open top Tridents 17217 and 17272 were present as grandstands.

Also on the ITV4 highlights programme 1 x part open top Trident and 1 x Bike Bus were present at the Kendal Sprint 2.

Would the second Trident have been 17277 not 17272?.

This probably explains why the Olympian was on the 78 on Tuesday - the Tridents would have been getting prepared for yesterday.
My apologies - should have read 17277 at Shap Fell for Tour of Britain.
10016/17,27766/7 all turned up at ME this evening.
