The News & Star quotes the 7.10pm from Dumfries but I am sure I saw 22139 on this board earlier.

There's plenty more MAN's still in reserve in Manchester if you need a replacement sending up. Where's 22160? Is it definitely 22142 that was damaged[or 22139 that somebody else suggested]? I ask that because I remember 22139 in Manchester as always seeming to have a very smoky exhaust.
All of the MAN ALXs in Cumbria are knackered, and are not suited to the work they do at all. Almost all of them are rather smokey, but unfortunately we're stuck with the awful things.
22137 suffered engine failure a few weeks ago. 22160 was the last to enter service, with it being the last one of the 5 that came directly from Manchester to get a repaint. It broke down on the first day in service here and hasn't been out in service since to my knowledge.
As another side note, Lillyhall's 22104 starting pouring thick black smoke out of it again, just a few weeks after it had engine repairs for thick black smoke pouring out of it.

22137 and 22160 are both still waiting to have new engines fitted, not sure when they'll be out again yet.
Trident 17017 was in Brampton at 18.00 today on the Brampton 685 - first time i've seen a Trident in Brampton. Previously when a double decker was used it was an Olympian.

And if the ex S reg Manchester MANs are so much trouble, why not scrap them and re-instate the older Alexander PS Volvo B10Ms? New engines must be very costly or are the engines being recycled and reused?

...Maybe because the fast approaching DDA deadline which means all step entrance buses need to be out of service by 2017?

I haven't heard of them being ''so much trouble ''anywhere else. There seem to be one or two posters who've just got it into their heads that they don't like them. Or maybe there's other reasons?
Or perhaps its just a reflection on how well informed some members are compared to the majority?

Glasgow hate their examples, East Midlands are cannibalising some of their ex-Manchester MANs....surely that's indicative of the general state?
