Thank you! I'm curious to know about the 07 pulsars/cadets in Wrexham, Chester and Bangor are been replaced. If any from Wythenshawe will be replacing them.

Was supposed to be 3090-3100 St Helens, 3101-3106 Runcorn, 3126-3135 Southport, with 29** and the Mellor mini's not having a home.....

If Arriva keep closing depots not making enough money, and councils keep axing low usage bus routes, it's not surprising they don't have a future home lined up from the Mellors.

Arriva didn’t close this depot due to money it’s was simply down to franchising coming in and Metroline winning the bid to operate.

I know but they've chosen to close depots across the country due to them not making enough money. So some options that would have existed for transferring the Mellors to five years ago are no longer available.

Why should they operate depots that lose money? They are a business at the end of the day.

I didn't say or imply they should.

What I said was

"If Arriva keep closing depots not making enough money, and councils keep axing low usage bus routes, it's not surprising they don't have a future home lined up from the Mellors."

The fewer depots they have - the fewer cascade options they'll have.

Then with stretched council budgets they'll be fewer low usage routes going out to tender.

In the unlikely event Cheshire East Council now put out a tender for a bus service with a minimum seating of 17 in the Crewe area, Arriva aren't going to bid for it, because it'll be too far from Runcorn.[/i]
