245 will be curtailed to run between Altrincham and Trafford Centre only from 25 January 2015, with the Trafford Centre-Exchange Quay section withdrawn.

The website points out that Stagecoach routes 250 and X50 continue to Trafford Park. However, as they use a different road and do not serve Exchange Quay, this is not as helpful as it sounds.

I might ride it on the 24th, and wish I had done on November 29th when I did Manchester Airport and Eccles.
Makes me wonder whether 245 is being curtailed for the same reason the 247 was curtailed, lack of passengers plus timekeeping issues especially at peak times, I know the odd time I've been at Trafford Centre during the peak some 245s have run to time going towards Exchange Quay but either been late or on the odd occasion not turned up whatsoever on the journey back to Altrincham
The roads at times around the Trafford Centre can get heavily congested , probably a good idea to have services terminating there then having them operate via the Trafford Centre for time keeping purposes.

Have they finished the road improvements there yet ?
I think for the first time in ages, TfGM have produced the timetable for the 263 instead of Arriva themselves. Even though the timetable is printed for January 2015, it states that Arriva will withdrawn the last two daily journeys from Altrincham in April.

In the event I reverted to my previous plans and went to Preston then. I can ride the interesting sections formerly covered by route 245 on route 293 one Mon-Fri later in the year when it is daylight in the afternoon peak.

It may go to another Operator, or it may even not be awarded as there are other changes to contracted services in Trafford Park from that date.

Thank you for preparing me Dentonian. I shall watch out for changes, and can decide to ride it before then if this seems best. I'm sure Go-Goodwins and MCT will bid for it.
