14 Pulsars from Wythenshawe does sound a bit much as I thought all of Wythenshawe's Pulsars are accounted for route wise unless one or more routes are planned to be converted to double deck status, one route that could be beneficial could be 263s considering how busy they get on the peaks, I wouldn't double deck the 19s considering the frequency of them these days, I suppose the 18 could warrant a double decker considering the loadings from Trafford Center these days
Well how many pulsars operate the 12 from rhyl depot as i was wondering if that route gets deckerd then we might get pulsars from there, just a thought.

As I am not to sure what services other than the 19 that pulsar's operate I was thinking that it could be the ex Runcorn Pulsars and what ever is left over once the 19 is taken out. Guess only time will tell.
4171 (LJ51DLU), former DLP71, is reported at Wythenshawe. This means some of the registrations quoted on the previous page and on the Arriva NW/W Yahoo Group are wrong as LJ51DLU was supposedly 4168.

So, with credit to Ant, the following are at WY:

4161 LJ51DLN (ex DLP70)
4162 LJ51DLZ (ex DLP75)
4163 LJ51DLX (ex DLP73)
4165 LF02PKD (ex DLP88)
4166 LJ51DKY (ex DLP66)
4167 LJ51DLD (ex DLP67)
4171 LJ51DLU (ex DLP71)

4164 is not reported as in service yet, and was also wrong in the earlier list, registered as LJ51DKY which is actually 4166.

It does appear that only eight DLPs are for use at WY, replacing the nine DLAs which have mostly left: 4012 and probably others to Bolton, 4017 to Winsford and 4014/16 to St Helens. 4018 is still at WY but probably covering for the eighth DLP.
variety of buses on the 263 today, including ML1-branded ALX200, 245-branded Wright Pulsar, a Cadet and a DAF DB250-Plaxton President. Plus the usual Pulsars and Enviro300s

4017 is back here, It was only a loan at Winsford, 4061 was the replacement for 3311 Smile
4017 is no longer at wythenshaw as its now at the rear of st helens withdrawn from the fleet and 4164 is at st helens getting its mot done as far as i know.
I took a trip to Altrincham and Wythenshawe last Tuesday. What an eye-opener the 19 from Altrincham to Sale is. This route takes the slow road round Woodheys rather than the direct route up Washway Road. The 19 for some time has run a 15 minute frequency carrying on through to Manchester Airport. Pulsars are the order of the day now. However there is now a 19A double deck route also on a 15 minute frequency which requires 5 buses which were 4018, 4020, 4162, 4165 and 4167. This is not all!! Finglands now have a similar route 19 working the same route as the 19/19A running through Sale to Sale Moor which also needs 5/6 buses.

Thus there is currently a 5 minute frequency around the 35 minutes or so route from Altrincham to Sale. So much fresh air. I caught a 19A and had 4165 to myself for three parts of the journey and shared it with two others for the balance.

I see the 19A is advertised as 'School Term only" Why does is need to run during the middle of the day? Or am I missing something?

I should mention that there is also a 16 going through to Manchester Piccadilly every 30 minutes round this route. So 14 buses an hour????

After Sale I found Wythenshawe depot at last and 4161/3/6/8 were all there. No sign of 4171 but 2621 and 2622 were there from Bolton. Also 4013 and 4019 were in the depot so that is 4 Dafs still at WY. 2256 was towed in while I was there.

I was briefly in Manchester on Wednesday and saw 4161 on an evening 130 to Macclesfield. They look really smart in Interurban blue.

2622 Is from Winsford, it was supposed to be used on the 84, but broke down on Northwich Locals, and was sent here once fixed.
Regarding the 5 minute combined frequency on 19/A then make the most of this while you can as at the next timetable change at the end of October Arriva are making changes to the timetable which sees all 19As withdrawn although the Fingland's 19 shorts to Sale Moor will still remain
