Now that Tower Transit have taken over HTL, I wonder whether they will take over Hatton's Travel too?

There’s currently no indication for that to take place, and both businesses operate in completely different ways
Huyton travel is largely focused on providing public contracted services for Merseytravel whilst also training drivers for PCV through their onsite Abacus training facility
Hatton’s on the other hand has a larger focus on touring, acting as a travel agency and private hire provision, but also operates a small number of Monday to Saturday contract services on the side.
I would imagine that even if franchising does take place and Hatton’s have no successful bids in the process, the touring side of the business will remain as normal (similar to Ogdens that no longer operate contracted bus services)

Thank you for explaining how these businesses compare. I agree that it is basically just normal bus services that will interest Tower Transit.
Tuesday 29th April 2025.
Due to problems the following Hatton services will not be running today. The 297 from St Helens scheduled at 15:05, the 297 scheduled at 16:05 from Kirkby & the 60 scheduled at 17:10 from Hard Lane.

If not for franchising I could see Hattons getting into serious trouble with the TC for these missing services.
Bus Times seems to think the Bus due to do the above broke down at Whiston Hospital, If so then its not a Driver shortage for once
