No, Hattons have two Merits. I'm well aware of the difference between the Cadets and Merits and seeing as the Hattons pair are chassis badged as Volvo SB120s, that would make them Merits.
Lets face it guys, the Cadets and Merits are the same bus. They look the same, sound the same just different names...
I'll be honest I thought they were Cadets, there was something different about them though. They were badged as DAF despite their date of registration meaning they should be VDL products as they had been stored unused since they were built a year or two earlier... Am I talking nonsense or am I at least a bit right?!!
The fact that AOD is badged a DAF at all is bizarre given the contradiction of the chassis plate. I'm not wholly sure whether AOC has actually ever carried a DAF badge to the front but your logic seems about right to me anyway!
i also thought they was cadets as when i been on hattons depot i even heard drivers call them cadets
I'm not surprised; like has been said, they're essentially the same thing. I only noted it by chance whilst boarding behind a slow moving line of passengers.
if i was to see one today how do i tell the difference between that and a cadet? its something as a spotter am going to have to get my head around :P
Merits are sold through Volvo so they'll have Volvo somewhere inside them.
The chassis plate, at the front next to the doors, reads Volvo SB120 which highlights the difference.

If that's the case, that logic applies across the whole of the Wright range, past and present!
