Not only is N-reg perfectly plausible for a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart - therefore making the bus potentially look six years older than it actually is - but the last four characters of the registration sound like AWFUL.

Quite a few operators do it, just seems a dreadful waste of money. God knows how much Blackpool Transport have spent on theirs.
In some cases registrations are used on buses to save on retention fees, this was certainly the case when HTL reregistered Solos YJ12 GXP/R to J8/P7 HTL. They were previously on the owners cars but as they moved to leasing cars the regs were not reused and instead put to use on the buses.
The private registrations hattons use is because he does the rugby contracts the RFL stands for Rugby Football League.

Another Addition here is Transbus Internation Dart SN03 WLE, former Metrobus, Its on the 140/141 today if anyone would like it
