Friend of mine was waiting for the 11:00 297 off St Helens and said it never arrived, If Bus Times is correct it would seem the 12:00 from Kirkby has not operated either

I seriously don't know how much longer her can operate as the cost of fines must be stacking up

That depends on if Merseytravel are even issuing fines. The amount that companies are doing now and getting away with, suggests they are either bidding so high that the fines don't matter, or Merseytravel have given up fining operators.

There's at least 3 operators right now up to silly business and getting away with it.
Friend of mine reporting the 11:00 297 off St Helens has not turned up again, Multiple times a week this happens

Commercial route so not much can be done really.
It is part funded but still, The TC can & should get involved
How many journeys/services have to be cancelled before somebody sits up and takes notice?
If they're losing so much mileage, weather they're tendered services or commercial the traffic commissioner should be paying attention to it. Again, just because franchising is on the horizon doesn't mean substandard services should be allowed now.

Traffic commissioners get off their backsides and do some work..... Good luck with that. They've been the most spineless regulator of the lot of them since Covid. Public inquiries for poor reliability of local bus services is extremely low. And operators know that is the case, so they don't care.
