Transport for the North called an emergency meeting over Northern's performance on Wednesday.
I've haven't watched the meeting to see what was actually said.

Showing all services between Liverpool and Wigan, meaning it wouldn't be possible to get Northern to Wigan and then Avanti to Preston either. There's just 3 TransPennine trains from Lime Street to Glasgow via Preston but Northern have said Northern tickets are being accepted on TPE services tomorrow if there's no alternative Northern service in the 60 minutes following the cancelled service.
Also, while not mentioned all Leeds to Chester are turning around at Victoria, as has been the case for the past couple of months.
DO NOT TRAVEL ROUTES - NO NORTHERN TRAINS WILL RUN AND REPALCEMENT ROAD TRANSPORT WILL NOT BE PROVIDED
Manchester Piccadilly to Stoke-on-Trent
Manchester Piccadilly to Chester
Stalybridge to Wigan North Western
Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan North Western
BUSES WILL REPLACE TRAINS ON THE FOLLOWING ROUTES WITH LESS FREQUENT SERVICE AND LONGER JOURNEY TIMES
Oxenholme to Windermere
Wigan Wallgate to Southport
Preston to Blackpool South
Lancaster to Heysham Port/Morecambe
LAST SERVICE - ROUTES FROM SOME STATIONS WILL SEE LAST SERVICES FINISHING EARLIER THAN NORMAL - PLEASE CHECK BEFORE TRAVELLING ON ROUTES FROM..
Manchester Victoria
Wigan Wallgate
Liverpool Lime Street

A number of routes have 50-100% of services cancelled today - as is becoming the norm for Sundays.

Northern have cancelled services all day on the Mid Cheshire line due to flooding near Mobberley. They say replacement buses are not possible. It'll be interesting if the only services that run are the late ones which were already scheduled to be replacement buses due to engineering works.

The Manchester Airport line has also seen a high number of cancellations due to the heavy rain overnight. (It looks like the Crewe to Manchester services were diverted this morning so are showing no report, rather than cancelled).

I noticed a 323 was working a Blackpool North to Manchester Airport service yesterday afternoon. I remember all the fuss about people not wanting services transferred from TPE to Northern as they thought it was mean a rolling stock downgrade, and the specific "Northern Connect" train specifications in response to that, mandating 2+2 seating, tables, plug sockets, air conditioning etc.

It appears that more 331s should have been ordered is it still possible that Northern could order more 195 & 331s?
