323202/203/205-213/217-219/241-243 transfer to Northern,
323201/204/214-216/220-222/240 have no lease beyond WMT.
Wonder if the remaining 9 will transfer when the Wigan north western line to lostock is electrified.

Nice one! Makes getting my remaining ones easier for sure!

Wouldn't be surprised if all units end up with Northern eventfully,Im guessing the units will be refurbed into Northern spec before entering service.
So Northen is to receive 17 x 3 car 323 to replace 15 x 4 car 319. The 323s may be considered a better unit but they are too small for the services that that are expected to operate.

The 319s are becoming unreliable and are slow, hence the reason why northern opted to keep the 323s and get rid of the 319s.

The 323s aren't too small at all. The capacity difference between an 80-metre 319 and 69-metre 323 is negligible

There will also be platforms can accommodate a pair of 69m 323s but can't accommodate a pair of 319s without the rear unit being locked out-of-use. Salford Crescent being probably the largest station where that's the case. (Note anywhere on an electrified line that can take a 6 car 185, can also take a 6 car 323.)

A 323 actually has more standard class seats than a 9 car Pendolino albeit in a higher density 3+2 formation.

Trains haven't run all day on some routes and are still continuing to be cancelled with no replacement road transport, even where the weather conditions have improved.
Reportedly due to the weather disruption 195117 was sent ECS from Chester to Manchester Victoria via Northwich and Denton.

The first passenger service of the day for Manchester via Altrincham departed Chester at 15:40.
156401 and 156402 have arrived on Newton Heath TMD.

401, 403 and 404 are coming to Northern on loan whilst the remaining 156/9s go through PIS mods.
