This is how deckers would be treated if they were used in some parts of Merseyside, and why Arriva and Stagecoach stick with Single decks for good reason.
Managed to get a ride on this, on route 168 recently.....

From a distance I thought it was 0712 (N659 EKD) the infamous B10B that's lingered around Merseyside for the past 18 years, then again, it was in new colours and looked a bit too small!

39 seater using Esteban Civic V0 seats, interior is clean and tidy with 'scribble' moquette on the seats (similar to the 02-plate CMT SPD Darts).
Seems to use the 3.9 litre turbo-diesel, rather than the bigger Cummins 5.9

One thing that puzzled me though, was the YJ (Yorkshire) registration index. Bit odd seeing as it went to Scotland.
Noticed a silver plaque at the bottom of the driver's cab 'Arriva Bus and Coach Sales'.
Ah, that explains it! Obviously registered in Yorkshire (as are most DAF imported chassis) brand new by Arriva.
Didn't Arriva Bus and Coach used to be Hughes-DAF?

The DAF DB250/ALX400 deckers new to London (S202 JUA) etc also have Yorkshire indexes ('UA' is Leeds) along with 'Arriva Bus and Coach Sales' plaques in the cabs, although the later (T2** FGN) ones didn't seem to get them ('GN' is the index for South West London).
Have I missed something, why are Peoplesbus either withdrawing their services or losing their tenders:

52/52A Lliverpool-Netherton)Withdrawn from 20th September
510 (Liverpool-Aintree) Withdrawn from 1st October
68 (Bootle-Aigburth) Withdrawn from 16th October
123 (Kirkby-Fazakerley)/168 (Bootle-Aigburth) change of operator from 16th of October

Also noticed that future operator changes to Peoplesbus have now changed to another operator, ie; eve/sun 135 (Bootle-Aintree Station)

Peoplesbus is changing the type of work that they undertake for various operational reasons.

Operational reasons such as losing contracts, the old lady who waited 90 minutes on Allerton road yesterday for there half hourly 168 will be pleased to hear it

In short yes, it even occupies the same yard and office premises at Cleckheaton.

Except that not all those listed are actually contracts. Next guess?

I would imagine that it was because of the friendly LFC match. Most times there is either a EFC/LFC match the buses are running late. If the lady waited 90 minutes that meant only 1 bus was late/missing!!

OK, thanks for that.
Explains why loads of DAFs keep having Yorkshire registrations, including Peoplesbus' latest acquisition.

Even the very first London DAF DB250LF decker, DLA1 (R101 GNW) was registered there.
('NW' is a Leeds index).
The Solo SR, Tempo and a Caetano-bodied Dart are all for sale in the trade press this week.
