Yes, or at least that's what the latest news update on the GNE website says.

6047: NK12 GCY

6048: NK12 GCZ

6049: NK12 GDA

6050: NK12 GDE

Dennis Trident/Plaxton 3886: NK51 UCO and SPD 8222: V822 ERG have been transferred from Winlaton to Deptford.

Scania artics 4950: NK51 OLR and 4952: NK51 OLU have been withdrawn from Gateshead. Confused

Ex-Metrobus Olympians 3986: P826 SGP, 3987: P828 SGP, 3988: P817 SGP and 3989: P818 SGP have been sold to Weardale Motor Services, Stanhope.

So the scania arctics have been dropped from service altogether ?????

Thought something must have happened as Iv not seen them on the 58 in a while! I thought the origional plan was for them to be painted into northern livery, or as suggested on here, gold so they can backup the X66 & 58?

Its a shame... they seemed better than the merc arctics which never seem to be to reliable. Last week out of 5 journeys I made only one was on the branded buses, the rest were on the volvo "yellow bus" or "northern" buses... so much for GNE promise of a gold standard service on the route!
New 'Red Arrows', NK12 GDO and NK12 GDJ are now fully branded at Saltmeadows Road.
NK06JXC (3954) is now in 'Northern' livery. I must say, it looks very smart and suits the livery.

Go North East's Facebook page reporting that the X9/X10 services were running late this afternoon due to the high passengers numbers and interest in the new buses that were out on the services today. Newcastle's Premier League against Tottenham may also had an impact on passengers numbers too.
