Were all the services on New Years day and indeed boxing day operated with Hybrids? or was it just the way they were interworked.

Not all buses on New Year's Day were Hybrids. I saw an ordinary Enviro400 on route 192 heading south just before the Hybrid headed north. I stayed local on Boxing Day so didn't see any buses then.

the hybrids/there were normal Enviro400s were used on 216/330 as ashton depot didnt open for the sake of 8buses so hyde road operated them boxing day / nyd and interworked 330/216`s so drivers breaks were in mcr. made sense on the day for dead mileage/break times

Don't really understand this post, and in anycase none of what you appear to have reported is unusual.

On Boxing day and New years day all services were run by Hyde road and Sharston??, Ashton depot was shut.
Wish I'd have known about the hybrids though as would have made an effort to travel on one or two on the more unusual routes.

Ah right. Might have known it was too good to be true Smile In that case hybrids wouldn't be all that unusual as they regularly appear on different Hyde Road routes on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, with less buses obviously required on 197 and 219. The 201, 203 and 204 often get them, along with various other City Centre routes.

SP06DBO was having gear issues in Wigan Bus Station this morning, it got stuck at the 625/6 stand on the 621/8! It wouldn't get into gear and some alarm started going off too! The driver finally got it moving after about five minutes. Smile
