Number 2 will now only serve chester to ellesmere port.

Rockferry are to gain the x1 to replace the x8. X1 will now serve overpool instead of ellesmere port trainstation

Interesting. So the new X1 I assume will not serve the Motorway. The 22 I assume the last journey from Moreton will continue on to Chester rather than terminate at Heswall.

It will be interesting to see if it calls at all stops , this beginning to look like the old first group service 2.

Which routes get the Gold vehicles in the shake up , anything other than Gold Vehicles on the remains of the 2 and it will be looked at as a backward step.

X1 is it going to be Gold or they taking the vehicles off Chester that was previously on the X8.

These service changes to 2,X8 are pathetic, will drive even more people away from the buses, X8 will be destroyed by Rock ferry Depot, and Magazine Road/Mill road loses
another route

I wonder if given the fact the new X1 will not serve Ellesmere Port Train station ,whether they will introduce it to the 7 and incorporate that in route instead,

I for sure won't use the X1, if its going to start stopping at Overpool station. Surely this is going to increase the duration of the journey especially if its going to follow part of the old 2 route, at least the X8 had some motorway journey which did reduce it slightly.

Stagecoach plans for the 22 involve no longer serve Arrowe Park Hospital or Moreton, instead operating via Irby and Greasby to West Kirby, so the last journey would terminate in Chester which makes more sense for the Chester depot to take this route on

The 22 once they announced that they didnt want to operate via Arrowe Park Hospital , does put this route on a collision course to be pulled completely if this change does not work.

In recent years what was the route like passenger wise between West Kirby and Heswall , this is the part of the route that will never really pay , the section beyond Heswall to Chester is where the money is as there is no other reasonable realistic public transport nearby.

There is no money really after Heswall going north on the 22. It would be interesting if it goes between Heswall and Chester like the X22 within a year or so. But that would leave no link at all between West Kirby and Heswall (which really should have a Sunday service as well in my opinion) - merseytravel will have to step in. West Kirby will also lose its last link to Arrowe Park. The only positive is the 22 looks like it will revert to its old route and give Irby Road a Service to West Kirby and Irby Mill a service to Heswall. But this would leave the subsidised 82 redundant. Also will this mean the last bus from Chester will be withdrawn as it terminates at Heswall?

The 2 seems to be well used on the Wirral stretch, particularly to Bebington Station as it offers a link to Liverpool down past Dacre Hill. I heard originally it was to operate between Liverpool and the Croft only, now it seems to be going to be the other end of the route. If they did this, ie had a Liverpool - Bromborough Service and a Chester - Ellesmere Port Service (maybe a 3, which did exist at some point), would that save any money than they spend now?

Whatever happens there’s going to be gaps that will need to be plugged. The change to the X8 means it’s not really going to be that much of an express service in the end.

I totally agree regarding the X8, unfortunately I can see passengers moving back towards the trains if they go ahead with this change, also what's reason to take the X8 off Chester and give it to Rockferry surely its Chester most profitable route
