242 is now confirmed to be in service
Citaro 202 has had a rear advert frame fitted
Tridents 12, 17 and 18 have been withdrawn and have left the island
Been a while since anyone posted here, surprised that no one has covered Isle Of Man Transports introduction of Smart Cards.

From 2015 The Island Explorer Ticket will be a Smart Card, as will most of the other current multi-journey ticketing options, alongside a couple of new variants that will be available from next summer.

The Railway Season Tickets will be replaced by Go Platinum Cards and the Rail Cards will be replaced by Go Rail Cards.

Bus Vannin will also start charging 25p on all School Bus Services, and Citaro 204 has been shipped to the UK for repairs at EvoBus to fire damaged sustained on the Ramsey - Laxey Coast Road.

Also ex Bus Vannin 121/122 are on loan to Arriva Shires from WrightBus. Interestingly they now carry an all over silver livery, allowing us to see what the batch would look like had they stayed with Bus Vannin.
The bus fleet seems to have reached a more stable position now. There could be an additional minibus to come. The six remaining Alexander Dennis Trident 2 DDs 19 to 24 look likely to be retained for the forseeable future. All will be retrimmed, No.20 is the last just undergoing work in the garage. Red/cream livery is to be retained. Two of these DDs are outbased at Port Erin for schools work whilst the others are usually on schools work based from Douglas.

204 hasn't been here for a while!

They are indeed - their new registrations are HRZ 6498 (121) and HRZ 6499 (122). They do look really smart in silver I must say
The former 18 has now been resold by Ensign to Tanat Valley, Llanrhaeadr YM, Powys (near the Shropshire / Powys border of England and Wales). 18 now becomes 575 LW05 PJO and is in use:

It looks good in its new livery, and it also seems to have had new or reupholstered seats....

I agree - it does look very smart in its new livery
Yes, 204 left in September.

Bus Vannin haven't yet decided which new vehicles will be the next to join the fleet, the Citaro K has been evaluated and the Sprinters have been very successful. Any decisions on new buses will also be effected by the result of the introduction of charges on Schools Services.

19-24 are looking very smart, it is doubtful that they will be repainted, though if Banks Circus Paint Shop opens, a couple could be done if they have the time. They were retrimmed over the summer when they weren't needed, so could easily be repainted instead of lying spare in the Depot.

18 is looking good, though it hasn't been retrimmed, that is the Island Moquette 18 has had since delivered.
