I have heard that the new timetable will be starting on Saturday 3rd May
The new Volvos should start entering service very soon. These are replacing 5, 6, 9 and 44-46 - the VDLs still being in service at present. Withdrawn DAFs 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9 are still at the back of the depot

Yes, all changes commence May 3rd.
Looking forward to seeing the new B9TLs.
I've E-Mailed Corgi to recommend they make a model of a Bus Vannin Gemini II. They now have the casting so hopefully they'll make one.
Regarding disposals - 12, 17/18 and 44-46 will be withdrawn when 177-182 enter traffic at the start of next month. All six Volvos are now on the island and are stored at the back of Banks Circus depot
Dart 82 has left the island and is believed to be with Go Goodwins in Manchester. DAF 8 has also now left the island
I have been informed that DAF 8 is in fact still on the island - my reliable source was told it had left however I confirmed last night it is still present on the dead patch alongside 2, 5, 6, and 9. Volvos 178-182 are also on the dead patch with 177 in the workshops
No news on when Micro Hybrid StreetLite 242 is arriving at the moment

Yes, I have seen a photo of 2, 5, 6, 8 & 9 on the Dead Patch, thought I had mentioned/posted it here.
Looking forward to seeing 177-182 in service, the Volvo B9TL is a fantastic bus. It has effectively been confirmed that Bus Vannin have no interest in the B5TL, and it has also been confirmed elsewhere that Lothian find the B5TL demonstrator they have underpowered, especially on some of the hills in Edinburgh.
Also, I imagine the withdrawal of 12, 17 & 18 will wait until 177-182 are in service and 242 has been delivered, I did know Bus Vannin wanted to reduce the older vehicles to around six.

Quote:New bus timetable from 3 May 2014 - Public Transport Press Release
A revised bus timetable comes into operation across the Isle of Man on Saturday 3 May 2014.
Copies of the new Journey Planner and Timetables booklet listing all bus vannin and IoM Railways services will be available from the Welcome Centre in Douglas from Friday (2 May). The new bus schedules are now available online at www.iombusandrail.info.
Kate Beecroft MHK, Political Member responsible for Public Transport, said: ‘A major review of the Island’s bus network was undertaken in 2010 and these further tweaks, approved by the Road Transport Licensing Committee, are evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
‘Bus vannin is increasingly commercially focused and has responded to customer feedback as much as possible in revising its services under current budgetary constraints.’
Improvements to bus services include more Sunday and evening services, notably between Douglas and the north (service 3). There’s also a new summer service 15 around Laxey village.
