All six were planned to enter service today - however one might not be ready yet as 18 (due for replacement) is still in traffic this afternoon

I like the Sprinters - they're ideal for routes 13 and 29. However at the moment there aren't any plans to buy any more minibuses unfortunately

Fantastic, did you manage to get any pics? Also, what route was 179 on? I imagine 141 was on the 13?

Looking forward to trialling a Sprinter for myself during the summer.

It would have been the 13 as the 29 doesn't run during the day on Thursdays apart from a school run in the morning and the afternoon

The Sprinters are only deployed on services 13 and 29 and a couple of school services during the day. Sometimes they are used on routes 4 and 5 in the early morning. They will also be used for service 15 when that starts on June 9th

Thanks FMN, they could also be used on the 10B. Looking forward to a ride on the new 15 too, that'll probably be the route I sample a Sprinter on, considering I usually get the M.E.R to Laxey.
No problem!

Withdrawn DAFs 2, 5/6 and 8/9 are still on the dead patch it looks like 12, 17/18 and 44-46 could be remaining in service for a bit longer as there's no more room on the dead patch until the last DAFs have been shipped. I have heard that the plan at the moment is to keep 12, 17/18 and 44-46 for use at TT so they could be around for another month or so yet. 18 was still in traffic around Douglas this afternoon so I'll keep an eye out for the rest tomorrow and next week

I have also been informed by my source that all six of the new Volvos have entered service today so I'll keep an eye out and try to get some photos for you

Thanks very much FMN, looking forward to the photos.

I was actually thinking about that, keeping deckers in service for the TT. I remember that when 89 was withdrawn it returned to service during the TT and was withdrawn again after. Great to hear 18 is still in service, what route was it on, a Douglas/Onchan Local?
179 was on route 1 to birch hill yesterday morning and yeah, 141 on route 13 to douglas. Didn't get any pictures i'm afraid. Had just finished work and no camera with me.

Thanks Spiiibz.

Also, as the lates Bus Vannin Network Changes came into force today, here's a picture of the 2014 Timetables & Journey Planner for any of us who haven't yet seen it. [Image: BmjuDfRIUAIqDvU.jpg]

Looking forward to picking up a copy during the summer.

Citaro 225 very unusually operated a route 5 today - it is usually only deployed on Douglas local routes. Also nominally Ramsey based 226 is still operating at Douglas

I have also heard the possibility that Tridents 12 and 17/18 are to be kept in reserve with VDLs 44-46 still due to be sold. Will have to wait and see!
