Seems to have been a lot of delays due to heavy traffic at many locations. I was on a 34 running 20 mins. late from Leigh this afternoon, and some of those going the other way were little better. Passed a pair of Darts almost together at Earlestown, both heading for Leigh.

Traffic was bad by the Asda roundabout in Huyton today, saw two 89s heading towards the airport together at one point. If traffic was bad in Huyton you can imagine how bad it'd be in the likes of Belle Vale! I think delays can be expected on any route this time of year.

I use the 89 regularly and I wouldn't actually have said it's been all that bad recently and I certainly haven't noticed a huge drop in the reliability of the service compared to others recently.

This said, reliability was absolutely abhorrent across the entire St Helens network today and the 89 did at one point go without a departure from St Helens for a good 50 minutes. Everything has been running in pairs with services dropped left right and centre, vehicles allocations being swapped upon arrival in the bus station and delays a plenty though. 10As ran pretty sufficiently mind with vehicles coming in on 10s being, rather irritatingly for those who can only use that service, swapped straight onto 10As for the best part of 45 minutes.

It also says something when Merseytravel actually take it upon themselves to announce that 'All service running in and out of the bus station are subject to severe delays' over the PA system!

adding onto this winwick road in warrington was shut for an hour or 2 due to a major accident and i was in warrington when the first 329 made it, well should i say all 3 buses came together a pulsar followed by a cadet then a solo SR the first 2 was running late the the solo SR might have been on time leaving the bus station as a 329 is due to leave

The 1620 and 1640 departures from Leigh departed within minutes of each other, sadly 7640 working the 1640 turned up first, which meant an uncomfortable journey back to St Helens for all - PLEASE ARRIVA - SCRAP THIS HEAP ASAP.

7620 joins 7623 as a loanee DartSLF from Green Lane.

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
Are they definitely loans then as opposed to transfers? Seems a bit of a faff sending a blinded example (in the case of 7623) unless they're longer term loans!

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
They could well be permanent transfers CX54, Jackson St has been used as a Dart SLF retirement home many times prior to this! I'd think the likely case of 7623 would stay longer, but 7620 could be more short term. St Helens have a number of vehicles VOR currently which could have been the main contributing factor in these two heading up the A580. Perhaps, when fleet is back to strength, both will return or be withdrawn from the fleet completely.
