RE: Stagecoach North East
12 (Middlesbrough – Hemlington – Coulby Newham Parkway Centre)
• Complete revision to timetable to assist reliability with additional running time provided at peak times.
• Minor change to route in Coulby Newham, with the service now operating a one way loop via Stainton Way, Newham Way, Parkway Centre, Dalby Way.
• Passengers wishing to alight at the Rainbow Leisure Centre will be dropped off on returning journeys.

Timetable is now working online (thanks to myself reporting the link not working)

Compared to the current timetable, where the 12 has a daytime journey time of 34 minutes in each directions, the new timetable gices Coulby Newham-bound trips 36 minutes out and return journeys have 38 minutes. Evening journeys (currently 31 minutes each way) will now have 34 minutes each way (leaving just 2 minutes connection onto the 610 and 611).

11s get 5 minutes extra running time (74 instead of 69). 14s get 2 minutes extra (52 instead on 50, not that it really needs any more time, just gets it to retain the 5 minute head-way with the 11 and 12 between The Cambridge and Trimdon Avenue Road End).

RE: Stagecoach North East
September changes in Newcastle...

Service 1: Monday to Saturday daytime buses are revised to once again run up to every 7 1/2 minutes between Four Lane Ends and South Benwell, with alternate buses continuing every 15 minutes to Slatyford via Scotswood.

Service 12: So we can continue to offer customers the most reliable service, despite ever-increasing levels of traffic congestion, the timetable is revised. However, basic frequencies will continue unchanged, with buses running up to every 7 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes.

Services 15 and 15A: So we can continue to offer the most reliable level of service, we’re making some changes to these routes. Although the main Monday to Saturday daytime frequency remains unchanged (with buses running up to every 30 minutes) trips during the morning peak will run up to 10 minutes earlier, and afternoon buses will run up to 10 minutes later. To further assist reliability, Services 15/15A will once again operate direct via Ponteland Road. This will mean buses will no longer serve New Mills.

Service 18: To further assist reliability, afternoon peak time buses will run up to 10 minutes later. The main Monday to Saturday daytime frequency remains unchanged, with buses running up to every 30 minutes.

Services 39 and 40: Mid-evening journeys on these services are slightly retimed, with most trips operating up to 4 minutes earlier towards Chapel House and Dumpling Hall, and up to 4 minutes later towards Walker and Wallsend. The main daytime timetable each day continues unchanged, with buses running up to every 5 minutes.

Service 68: Afternoon journeys are revised to operate up to 5 minutes later. There are no changes to morning trips.

A very interesting situation surrounding both the change to the Newcastle 12 and the Teesside 12, considering both are about improving reliability.

On the 12, this is the first major change to the timetable since it started nearly 10 years ago (January 2013 marks 10 years since the first major Teesside network view by the two big operators). I think, when you consider this, this change is long overdue.

Just been informed that 37-branded MAN ALX300 22064 (NK54 BFL) has been debranded. Reason for this is that it has a starting problem (switch the engine, sometimes takes 10 mintues or more to start it again).

You would have thought that they would just fix the problem with the bus so it starts properly, seems a bit excessive totally debranding it just because of starting issues.

They would fix the problem, if they knew what exactly is the problem. It's apparently stumped the Engineering team. So, until they work that out, it's been debranded as, that problem means it's useless on the 37 (given the 15 minutes layover at James Cook Hospital during the day, when 22064 was mainly used on the route, it was only after it failed to start last night about 9 there).

Plus, there's also one of the two evening working that drops back 12 minutes at North Tees Hospital on a night (the odd hour departures from there, finishes Middlesbrough at 2334) so drivers are asked to kill the engine on anything with more then a 3 minute layover.

RE: Stagecoach North East
It's purely down to the amount of lost mileage that bus causes every day - the idea is it cannot be used on 37s due to the layovers
