RE: Avon Buses
Now I know that the main (or only?) routes that Avon buses run in the heart of Liverpool are routes 202 & 204, I know to check the timetable in time for my September visit!

Avon also run the 93, 122, 135/235 and 144 in Liverpool along with 202/204

Also does anybody actually know if the 93 is getting reverted back to Birkenhead and Arrowe Park? If so what's going to happen to the 204 in L1 bus station as it will have a 42 minute layover and it's not up for a timetable change in September like the 93

Edit: ignore the above about the 93 found out the 204 is up for a change from VOSA thread, don't trust the Merseytravel updates page because it doesn't say it's there

One last question anyone know what buses are gonna cover the newly acquired school contracts?

RE: Avon Buses
The 202/4 is reverting back to Dingle - Broadgreen, with morning and evening journeys going over as a cross river 83. The 12/93 will revert back to its old route.

The 144, 135 (M-S daytime) and 235 do not enter Liverpool at all (never mind "the heart of") - they are all completely within Sefton.

RE: Avon Buses
Thank you to all 3 of you for your info. As we can use Liverpool Saveaways on some Sefton routes, sampling Avon there would still be great. As my visit is planned for Sept 24th I know to look up timetables and routes changes on the Merseytravel website, allowing for changes at the start of the month.

RE: Avon Buses
This months REC newsletter suggests Avon have acquired B10M M420RRN from EYMS and just like when with EYMS it will continue to be used as a driver trainer with Avon. I didn't think an independant as small as Avon would require training vehicles.

I'm pretty sure this B10M was originally acquired by Ribble for thier first Stagecoach Manchester which saw them compete with GMS on the 192. Ribble ended up selling the Manchester division to Finglands to enable them to by GMS and become the stagecoach Manchester we all know today. The B10's eventually moved to EYMS.

RE: Avon Buses
You'd be surprised, HTL Buses have a training arm that has two buses and two trucks and the yard itself doubles now as a training centre. It can be quite lucrative work and in the case of HTL they have worked with Merseytravel in the past on Sector Based Work Programmes to get people in to work, aside from themselves they have done courses involving other operations on Merseyside such as Cumfybus and Avon themselves.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.
