RE: First Manchester
Oldham and Bolton are the real moneyspinners in the area which is why the two get the most new buses.

As for the Volvo's, I'm getting pretty sick of them to be honest. How many Enviro400's are there at the olympics, because as far as I'm concerned they'll be noticed better as being new buses to the public.

Could it be possible that Huddersfield are to gain two buses from the Oldham depot for the 184 (when the new ones come in)? As this is what happened with the B9TL's... Hmm...

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

Allocation is 50 to OM and the other 50 going to BN

information from the gm buses yahoo group

Bloody hell how many 'new' buses to Bolton and Oldham want at all?! They've already got loads of MX58XXX B9TLs! It'd be nice if some of those new ones came to Bryn for the 600. As mentioned before though, maybe some other things from other depots may come to Bryn to cover the Darts and Excels that seem to be getting withdrawn quite a lot recently. In terms of Darts, 40390 and 40396 have been withdrawn with 40396 going to PVS, and in terms of Excels, 60156, 60158 and 60160 have all been withdrawn. Maybe some of the B7RLEs or even some of the B9TLs from Bury and/or Oldham would come in to Bryn to get rid of more of those. We shall wait and see! :P

I Must say Thomas, I thought as you did, about Bolton and Oldham getting all the new vehicles, espically as you say Wigan's stock is shall we say very tired indeed. But of course we all know the money spinners are priority, and first may well, think lets keep the death traps on the road, a little while longer, at the expense of giving all the sugar candy to OM And BNUndecided

I'am with you Liam, sick of volvos, would be so good to see something different, I think you may well be right about huddersfield gaining two extra buses for its 184 duties. Also, at the time these new buses arrive, its likely the bendis at Bury 05 reg scania omni citys 12001/18 are possibly and quite likely to be transfered out of Bury. Now Bury has its two busy routes the 471 and 135, so what replaces the 18 bendis. Combi of B9TLS From either BN OR OM, oR A Mix from Both Depots Me thinks could be likely.

RE: First Manchester
Well I can see the B7RLE's being shifted out of Oldham when the new buses arrive, and these would probably be the direct replacements of the Darts - I don't see B7RLE's lasting much longer at Oldham. Then again I am thinking Oldham keeping about 25 B7RLE's as direct replacements of the Darts, whilst these reported B7TL's displace the Cummins-engined MX54 Solo's from the Pioneer depot for use on the 415. There's all-sorts of things that could happen this end though, we're open to change here at the Oldham depot. Nothing ever happens the way it should here... :P

The way I see it, because I thought it was 25 each depot at first:

B7RLE's are moved off core routes 181/182, 81, 425 and replaced with B9TL's.

Darts are moved off the 415, and replaced by MX54 Solo's.

Darts are moved off Rochdale Local work and replaced by 20-25 B7RLE's.

B7RLE's are moved to Wigan depot to replace Darts/Excels.

Not true, but would be ideal: Wigan could do with some Solo's for the 625/626's, so 40318-40322 could move there. I know one of those is withdrawn but I don't see this being the end for them just yet, and we don't need them in Oldham since the Y reg's are sat around in the depot 90% of the time doing nothing, and the PVR as far as I know is 4 on the Beech Hill routes, so 5 would mean a spare would be sat around waiting.

Bolton will replace their Darts with B7RLE's, replace their B7RLE's with B9TL's and replace their B9TL's with their new buses. The Arrows would just be pulled out of service easily.

Speculated B7TL's for the Pioneer depot would recieve B7RLE's or B10BLE that have been displaced by B7RLE's I think. Maybe the B6BLE's would come here too.

As for remaining B9TL's they would go to Bury for the replacement of the 94UA's

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

RE: First Manchester
What a nice surprise I had to Wigan this morning! The 7:47 (that's what the ticket says) 600 turned up this morning in Golborne, and it was 31947! It also passed 31932 on the 600 heading to Leigh not so long after in Ashton-in-Makerfield. :P

RE: First Manchester
Having looked at my fleetlist to see what is or what will be 15 years old this year, I came up with the following depot split.

Ashton - 21
Bolton - 28
Bury - 3
Manchester - 22
Oldham - 30
Wigan - 40

These cover all the P reg and some of the R reg buses (MRs are all the older B10BLEs)

Hi in your calculations did you include all the R reg olympians at Bury 30802/6 and also the Alexander oly xdm 31811/6 also reported to be 15 years old this year. I only ask as your list may have missed these off

RE: First Manchester
Hybrid vehicle 49123 on 513s was seriously struggling for speed in Whitefield just before, the journey is long at the best of times.. Even longer today

Also can anyone enlighten me

Which Garage did B7 69180 Start life at?

Also whilst at Bury in 2010 was the vehicle involved in an RTA on the 40 mph stretch of Bury Road Ainsworth, result being it had a front end re build. Im curious to know if this is true.As I've been reading on flickr!!!
