That's a hell of a lot of work First Dukinfield are loosing but might explain why so many drivers have left and also the fact there getting the OM workings back on the 348/350. technically we were already loosing 3 buses with the cuts 2 from daytiime 419/339 1*41 at night 3* 38/41/345/353+4 the 393 journey is only the 803am sat only jny that is tendered 353/4 were cutting back due to patronage only 1 bus 335 im suprised at as tfgm asked us to try the hybrids on it which we did to gather feedback. 408 eves were due for renewal so in reality we have lost 3 buses daytime and 4 eve n sundays not that much really but will mct have enough driver to cover all these new contracts or will it go belly up like many smaller operators have done beforehand |

I take your point about MCT taking so much on though. I realise now that it's not actually that much work that's been lost but never the less they are contracts that First have had for many years I'm sure they are disappointed to have lost them. As for MCT I completly agree. After the whole Maytree debarcle a few years back MCT have always struck me as an operator that COULD be unsteady I the future. We have seen the effects of small independents taking on too much work in Greater Manchester before with costly results so let's just hope they haven't out strectched themselves. MCT run the evening 169 service and it's hardly a bed of roses. Early running is a major issue as is drivers using phones and smoking while driving. The company fail to respond to emails and you get absolutely no where ringing up so it's going to be interesting. |

If possible, get photo's of the drivers wrong doings, then send copies to both the company and to DVSA (formerly VOSA). |

Contacted TFGM when MCT failed to get back to me, they just thanked me for my concerns and forwarded my comments to the operator who surprise surprise failed to get back to me. Ironically when JPT ran the service I can remember the last journey to Ashton passing me most evenings and it was always quite busy, I very rarely see anyone on MCTs last journeys but given that they often show up 5-10 minutes early so I'm assuming most regular users have given up on it. Taking photos is a good idea, the problem is I don't walk home from work searching out naughty bus drivers so if I see them smoking or chatting away on thier phone it's often too late to take a photo etc. I believe thier 395/396 service also has reliability problems but the complete opposite with buses often turning up 10/15 minutes late in Ashton. I know the timetable has been altered several times but it seems to be to no avail. Hopefully they will pull thier socks up come April. |

I take your point about MCT taking so much on though. they asked us when the roundabout changes were written in so it goes in the aft (not sure on am) 1205/335 1312/41 1405/335 1525/41 1635/41 1745/41 and 1212/41 1305/335 1412/41 1505/335 1610/335 1715/335 the jouneys on 41 at xx42(ish) are same bus but the 2 above jnys are gen hybrids. with the changes in april pioneer stand to say bye to 4 or5 of the 9hybrids. 3min stand to go with the freq changes (2 going with the cutback on 339/419 pvr 4 down to 2 and 1 for 41/335 pvr 2 down to 1). the 4 remaining ones being 3 versa/1 solo needed for 380/1/6 |

I know on a Sunday practically all journeys eveving/Sunday 389's and Sunday 168's are worked by Hybrids currently so are we likely to see more standard vehicles used on these services from April? |

Mct have tracking on most of their vehicles. Just go to tfgm first (and again if there's no reply once they forward you to the operator-tfgm won't know if it's been resolved or not). It worked fine for me when a driver decided to finish a route early one night. From my personal experience mct are very unreliable in the evenings. |

RE: VOSA Bus Registration Search
Its always best to contact TFGM first as they pay MCT to run these services so you would of thought TFGM would start going through the points system against the company on the tenders reported, however should nothing be done about it only in the last resort should VOSA be contacted, i have never had to contact VOSA before so cant tell you how that could be done For Blog Posts Containing all the latest in the local Bus Scene The 2002 Bus Blog Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, Updated regularly! You would think that as they are a 'community' operator and are non profit making that they might actually try a little harder but obviously not. I used to think JPT were pretty poor on the evening 169's with thier allocation of vehicles towards the end of the contract but 99% of the time you could set your watch by them. |
