Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan

Well it's been banded about. 29 new Enviro400's at Sharston freeing up around the same number of older Enviro400's.

I think it originates with the somewhat surprising rumour that Wigan is to receive 30 deckers so 29 new vehicles for Sharston, rougly the same number of older Enviro400's would go blue freeing up around 30 W and V reg Tridents to possibly go to Wigan - although it has been posted on here that the Tridents have been offered to other groups for cascade so I suppose anything could happen but surly they will be painting enough of the Enviro400's blue to make an impact.

Incidentally I'm told 4 possibly 5 W reg Magic Tridents have moved to Wigan over the last few days along with several Middleton vehicles.

Depending on what os made redundant with the 25 January cuts - and these should *all* be single deckers of various capacities - I would expect the figure to be somewhat less than 30.

The direct link is an influx of new Vehicles at Sharston is allowing older vehicles they are replacing to be painted into Magic bus livey. The Hyde road loans are an interesting one but they seem in no rush to send them home. The cuts at Middleton and Stockport don't directly affect what's going on at Sharston.

From what I've been told they are looking to replace all the W reg Magic Tridents and some of the V reg ones in poorer condition but I suspect it's a case of wait and see.

It may be appropriate to replace some of the Tridents acquired through Maynes and Bullocks. However, as these are V, 52 and 03-reg the newest ones may stay around for a while at least.

Not surprised about 80/118 being reducedbut thought 80 would have bee retained and 118 reduced. I presume 114 goes down Mainway East, then round roundabout and back along Greengage.

The 114 is going to the roundabout and turning around AFAIK
As for the 80 with the "Roumer" that they wanted the 88/89 perm I'm surprised at the cancleation...

Like apparently one of the big bosses of stagecoach Manchester wanted the 88/89 during the day (commercial) off first.... Probably roumee but... Still... Deregistering a route which competes with First is weird
