Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
I don't see the point in moving new buses about while they have buses on there way out not being replaced

Because the order for the Enviro400s are diverted orders from other Arriva divisions - hence ANW are required to lose some newer stock to the effected regions as compensation. 3113-22 are confirmed as bound for the North East, where on-paper they send 10 of the Cadets to North West but likely see them withdrawn and sold directly from ANE.

Your roving North East reporter, bring you the latest news from Arriva North East, Stagcoach North East and Go North East.

Apologies! Misread the list I have written down of Pulsar movements within the region.

In fact, for interest, the complete list that I've been told about is as follows...

3062-8 to Midlands, 3069-72 to Shires, 3073-6 to Midlands, 3079-81 to Midlands, 3107-22 to Shires, 3123-5 to Midlands, 3147-52 to Shires and 3153-8 to Midlands. There is another list from which has the same vehicles leaving but differences in what is going to Shires & Midlands plus some to NE....as they're all still in and around Liverpool at the moment, we'll have to see as plans can easily change at short notice. Have seen elsewhere that ANW 3153-8 will become Midlands 3799-3804 and ANW 3062-8 will become Midlands 3805-3811

Meant to say this earlier. Midlands already have 3800 upwards for Scania Omnilinks. So either a new block has to be found for the Scanias or more likely the Pulsars will start a new batch to carry on from 3798 ( the current last Pulsar ) or 3799, if that is used.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the Scanias have been renumbered into the 35xx series

Green Lane 2963, 3014, 3029, 3031, 3056, 3059, 3060, 3064, 3066(?), 3067, 3069(?), 3072, 3078, 3152, 3156 and 3160 were in use on the 52A, 53A and 55 today (26/12). Each driver kept their bus for the day with breaks being taken at Liverpool ONE Bus Station, so there was a lot of interworking going-on. On New Year's Day, there will simply be a gap in each service so that each bus can drop back to cover driver breaks, so each bus will stay on one service all day.

I remember doing a shift on Boxing Day some years back using 6525 from Bootle, keeping the bus all day and doing round trips on the 17C, 80 and 284!

Bootle had a decent number of Enviro400s out on the 52, 53 and 55 corridors again today. These really should be the norm on weekends as loadings on the 60 and 61 on Saturday and Sunday rarely justify double deck allocations in my experience, while the city centre routes are heaving at times.

RE: Arriva North West - Bootle Depot
Today Bootle had some double deckers on the 52/52A and 53A routes, but not full allocations. I actually think it's really poor to see Pulsars on the 52/53/55 routes on a Sunday. All three were suffering from overcrowding today as a result of the Pulsar allocations.

Hopefully once the new Enviro400s arrive this sort of nonsense will become a thing of the past.
