RE: Merseyrail
Services severely disrupted on the Southport line this afternoon due to a fatality at Fishermans crossing just north of Freshfield.
Services were turning back at Hall Road.

RE: Merseyrail
Some interesting reading HERE on Merseytravel's long range rail blueprint.

However, I wonder how much will actually happen?

Sadly it's true. The powers that be wanting a Saturday service in operation 6 days a week with a few token 6 cars floating around.

Really, really poor decision if this happens. Unbelievable that only a few days after Merseytravel released a report about expansion, they're talking about going backwards on the network they've already got!

Does anyone know who is responsible for this decision, Merseyrail or Merseytravel? Or maybe both?

It's Merseyrail who want it, Merseytravel who will no doubt allow it.
