Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Conversion time depends on a lot of things, and to be honest I don't really know.
Obviously if you want to do the job 'properly' to a high standard it will take longer.

Once the doors are taken out, the electric ramp needs removing and the floor building up - including braces. Then the framework for side panels and the window needs to be put in.
If you were really making a good job, you'd look to take out the door operating mechanisms and remove the associated wiring, and remove the privacy screens, before installing a light tube.

Either way, there's at least a few days work per vehicle.

However, during Macquarie ownership, the newer vehicles were sold and leased back in a bid to reduce cost. It is these vehicles that Stagecoach could buy back, as has happened in the case of 18210-20. Anything before 03 plates was always owned outright. Most vehicles bought by Macquarie are also leased.

I am aware that 18210-20 are out of service, reported as being prepared to go 'off-lease'
i wasn't aware that Stagecoach had bought them, can you say anymore/

Not much more to say really, they've been bought (not sure about 18201-9 though) and will remain in service in London for now.

18221-31/34/35 are being returned to the lease company though.

Sorry if this has already been asked. If Magic Bus get all these newer Tridents, are some of the older ones moving on or being scrapped? Someone mentioned two replacing the Spectra's. Wasn't it only earlier this year that they were painted into Magic Bus colours?

How long does it take to paint one bus into Magic Bus colours?

I would think some may be retained short term and used at Middleton given thier struggle for buses.
