The 16 Standard specification StreetLites for Durham (service 23, 5), Jesmond (service 306, 8) and Ashington (service 35/35a, 3) are 10.8 metre examples. In additional, 9 8.8m Wheel Forwards examples have now been ordered for Darlington depot for service 13a/b (Firth Moor Flyer) to release 5 MPDs to Blyth to replace the remaining allocated non-DDA MPDs north of the Tyne withdrawn. On current plans, only one non-DDA MPD of the presently allocated examples is currently not allocated a replacement (2 of the 3 allocated to Stockton will be replaced along with the 14 Prestiges once the 'Sapphire' Enviro400s enter service at Ashington and the 'Sapphire' StreetLites likewise at Stockton, leaving the 3rd MPD awaiting replacement).

As such, 2852-61 will be withdrawn upon the end of the contract (Saturday 25th October 2014) for repaint ready to return to the leaser.

It seems plans have now changed.

Instead of 9 StreetLite 8.8m WF, Darlington will now be receiving 2852-61 from Durham. Instead, Whitby depot will now be receiving 6 brand new Volvo B9TLs for the X93 to replace 7484-89.

I understand it's dealer stock, as per the examples East Yorkshire are presently taking.

I believe it might be.

Another point of note is that the 8 Streetlites for Jesmond will be in the hybrid livery to match 7801-10 on the 308, and also branded as 'Coastliner'.

No, they were ordered by Arriva hence the Operation overdrive interior.

The first 2 new Enviro400s arrived at Jesmond from Scarborough today. They are NK14GFJ/O. They should be joined by a further two by the end of the week with the remaining 3 arriving next week.

An additional order change has seen Darlington once again allocated new StreetLites - although this time they are destined to get 5 Door Forwards examples to upgrade 'The Best One' X1 to 'MAX'.

So, some Volvo B9TLs are coming ex-dealer stock for route X93. Will the current ex-London Volvo B7TL-Geminis stay in the north east or join others elsewhere, such as in Liverpool?

They will be moving to Durham to replace the T-reg DLAs.
