Yes when it was operated by Chester depot although there was still not enough solars as i think the pvr was 10 and they didnt have 65704 then so they had a ultralow or T919SSF when it was at chester on there. Unfortunatly it seems that solars at Rock Ferry are appearing on more or less anything. People tell me that its because of maintenance but surely the bus if it has a breakdown is taken out by a fitter and then when it is deemed fit for service is put out again. Thats how Chester works i think but please correct me if i am wrong. in other news 34260 has been given a full overall livery for the university of liverpool. http://www.flickr.com/photos/arrivanorth...297757138/ courtesy of N351DWN on flickr It looks very good although a bit pointless as it spends all the time in and around Chester. But there's no harm in promoting places of education in the region. The only decker i remember having a full advert on it was G803JYG that came from rock ferry couple of years ago promoting stokers the furniture place. http://www.flickr.com/photos/mark157-buses/6005970371/ courtesy of mark seanor on flickr DK09GYN has been given a new overall advert for Chester Zoo as can be seen here courtesy of "N351DWN" on flickr. I must say looks very nice indeed. The other Eclipse to have branding is DK09GXX but this has had this for some time now. Both look great. It's good to see First promoting tourist attractions in the city and it is a shame that the city sightseeing tour doesnt go to the zoo. Before anyone asks the City sightseeing tour used to go to hte zoo when it was competing with Guide Friday. But when city sightseeing bought them out the Guide Friday tour proved more profitable. I still think they should extend it through to the zoo. R812NVT 60054 has been given dot matrix displays as has R871ERE 60105. http://www.flickr.com/photos/arrivanorth...160545028/ thanks to n351dwn again Follow me on Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/people/135528304@N03/ |

RE: First Chester & Wirral
Its no use introducing that new livery on the vehicles that they have at the moment some look like there on a one way trip to somewhere called a scrap yard , maybe if better vehicles arrive for these QBP's then those vehicles may well get done. |

RE: First Chester & Wirral
First would be better off trying to obtain businesses to either connect Chester with Manchester or Stoke rather than have Chester and Birkenhead sitting out on there own. The alterations to routes coming up at Rock Ferry in July have saved that depot from extinction with probably some half decent vehicles coming in. |

Thats how Chester works i think but please correct me if i am wrong. The initial PVR was 9. Any failed Solar was quicky repaired and replaced the existing replacements [Dart or Scania L] as soon as possible. This continued at RF but seems to have ceased recently. Just before transfer an additional bus [Scania] was allocted to cover road works delays in Chester - 60106 appeared at RF as did the Solars. For whatever corporate reason First bought few, if any, new buses recently to cover the fact that NEW buses were required for Olympic services. These would need to be paid for as they are used elsewhere later. JohnC |
