Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
RE: Stagecoach Manchester
The 15:20 32 from Wigan departed 15 minutes late. After filling 19524, the driving continued to allow passengers on until 15:25 at which point the Enviro400 refused to start so we were eventually transferred onto 36778, an Enviro200! Needless to say, it was an unpleasant journey.

Allocations at Wigan have been weird today. An Enviro200 on the 15:15 540 service, it was absolutely packed.

Waiting at the top of St Albans Avenue 19101 (I think) - heard it when it was at Broadoak roundabout, like a faint plane taking off and then climbing that hill up onto Lees Road.... And when it finally passed me I nearly went deaf! B9s always sound good though, especially when loud.

It is 19101 Joe, unfortunately I caught it and suffered earache, it shouldn't be in passenger service with a dB (decibel) level of 100+
It is twice as worse as First's 37386

I was in Stockport bus station at about quarter past four when I heard this horrendous noise-next moment a 330 went past. The culprit 19101-agree it should be in the maintenance area, not in service.

Oh right, thanks for clearing that up (:

I did wonder about this back in September when the 63 plates first came out and MX seemed to be cropping up on a lot of cars as if they'd all been released. Normally they are only put on cars once all buses and commercial vehicles have been registered.

I can't see how they can pass an MOT in that state. I think 19101 may be past maintenance by the sound of it. It sounds like it's falling to bits. The Magic tridents on Oxford Road sound in better shape. Maybe the knacker's yard would be the better (and cheaper) option LOL

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
I caught the 16:52 201 Hyde-Manchester service last night and all I can say is that I'm glad I wasn't traveling the other way in last nights evening rush hour, as traffic was queuing from Gorton Tesco's all the way back to Ardwick Green Roundabout on Hyde Road and there wasn't any unusual problems from what I saw, so I'm guessing it was either additional rush hour traffic or incorrectly phased traffic lights but I know it usually queues on Hyde Road at that time of night but I haven't seen it that bad for a while, it must have been adding about an extra 20-30mins to services along Hyde Road

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Anyone know how much use 13996 the optare spectra gets plz? I know its an old bugger but seems to have been reasonably looked after by the maintenance lads & performs well too, also an arriva driver has told me that by 2014 all uk buses have gotta be low floor to comply with disability regulations etc.

How true is this, if so what'll stagecoach do with their remaining step entrance deckers???

I think when the new Hybrids come in service the step entrace buses will go and the ex London tridents will go in magic bus livery all ready carried by 17239
