Stagecoach MCSL - Chester & Wirral Depots
RE: First Chester & Wirral
At first glance looking at this First seem to have come off better on this one than arriva particulary on Chester - Liverpool work .

Is this service from Bus Exchange to Rail Station going to effect the present service operated by Helms I wonder , only time will tell on this .

RE: First Chester & Wirral
It looks like there could be three fewer double deckers at Chester from July from reading that.

RE: First Chester & Wirral
why? the deckers are normally used on schools anyway so i doubt they'll get rid of any.

Because if you read the third page of the stuff you will see that they are not continuing three school services...

On the other hand First's share of the Heswall corridor will go DD after Olympic cascades although given that they will dominate the Chester QBP, the obvious conclusion is that Arriva will have the majority share of the 471/472. What First's PVR there will be I don't know.

If you read the statement , the 5 vehicle PVR , three of those vehicles are vehicles that would have been used on them School turns , where the other 2 vehicles come from i will leave that to somebody who has more in depth knowledge of First at chester.

It sounds to me like they are able to make efficiencies through inter-working city services in general and particularly the peak. Interesting to consider that the joint PVR of First Chester and Chester City Transport at one time was over 100. Now it is less that half that, of which a quarter must be P&R work.

If it was on the A41 the only other routes that First operate there is the 41 and 42 Woodchurch - Mill Park services. It would be odd but not out of the question these days to have vehicles like that on that route.

Does this mean that 12-reg double-deckers will be cascaded here? I have the feeling that Manchester or Leeds will gain modern buses, with older B7TLs or B9TLs cascaded for less urban work.
