I know that a lot of depots in Wales did pass over to a developer who seemed to be building a lot of superstores for the now defunct kwik Save.

Yes it did.
Kwiksave was next door to Mold depot, the building is still there but since Kwiksave closed down it only contains a small Farmfoods store - the Mold depot site is now occupied by a Homebase store.

Chester depot have a good variety of vehicles, all single deckers and minibuses.

Wright Pulsar 2's - used on 1/1A - Chester - Blacon and 15/15A - Chester - Saughall
Wright Cadets - used on mostly 10's - Chester - Connah's Quay Morrisons, however are used on other routes as well.
Dennis Dart SLF Pointer II's - used on most routes - 3/3A/4/4S/10/X55
Dennis Dart SLF Pointer I (P533 MBU) used on any route except the 12.
Optare Versa's - Used on X44's Chester - Mold
Optare Solo's - Used on 12's Chester - Connah's Quay Morrisons

Hope that helps LOL
