RE: D&G Bus
So D&G no longer operate the 1, 4 & 15A services on Sunday. They are now operated by Arriva and Stagecoach.

Enviro 200 36, Solo SR 102 and Solo 137 have also both been out-of-service for months.

From a driver I know been told 25 has got electrical issues.

So I wouldn't hold your breath on it making a comeback.

Electrical or electronics issues on modern buses are a swine to sort out, so if it's too complicated a job to sort they might not bother.

RE: D&G Bus
While the Versas look like a modern design they are 14 years old now and more fuel thirsty than younger Metrocities. Some operators try to avoid retaining vehicles that are over 15 years old or start using the less reliable ones as spare parts donors.

That's exactly what they did with solo 142.

Stripped it for spares, mainly it's front end body panels & windscreen etc.

The 55 plate solos are going soon I've heard as their all quite long in the tooth, what they'll get replaced with is anyone's guess.

As they seem to be regulars on the 85 and also fill in for absent Versas and big Enviros, you'd hope D&G would get something like big SRs, Metrocities or big Enviros to replace them.

RE: D&G Bus
DG55 BUS has just left Knutsford on a RRB to Stockport. Northern have cancelled a shocking number of trains due to staff shortages yesterday and today.

RE: D&G Bus
So there's road closures in Knutsford town centre today due to the annual May Day Festival. It's not good that D&G didn't publish service revisions in advance.

It seems as a general rule the Macclesfield to Altrincham services are following as much of the normal route as possible, with the station and bus station skipped.

It seems 89 journeys are generally missing out the Knutsford to Wincham section, with the vehicles going via Plumley to get between Thorneyholme Drive, Knutsford and Wincham school.

However, the driver of the 13:50 Northwich to Knutsford, took the bus to Lostock Gralam, then drove to Knutsford bus station via Plumley, missing out the majority of the 89 route. Then parked up on Manchester Road for half an hour before driving to Altrincham to commence the 15:45 Altrincham to Knutsford, meaning the 14:30 Knutsford to Altrincham didn't run.

I can't understand any reason for this.

If there was no relief driver available meaning the 14:30 Knutsford to Altrincham was cancelled to allow a driver break, then the driver could have followed the normal 89 route to Northwich Road, then gone to the bus station via the route the 188 used to take when it served both Knutsford Academy and the bus station. The driver could have had a break and then gone direct to Altrincham.

If the driver was supposed to operate the 14:30 Knutsford to Altrincham then it should have skipped the bus station and gone via the one of the numerous roads linking the A50 and A537.
