Arriva North West had staff on furlough for all 9 months (including August 2021) and were claiming sums of between £500k and £1m in Feb and Mar

Warrington's Own Buses had staff on furlough for Jan/Feb/Mar.

MP Travel had staff on furlough in Jan and Feb only.

Like Arriva, D&G and Go Goodwins had staff on furlough for all 9 months.

While not all staff are drivers, if operators had staff on furlough for 9 months, including one after things reopened, is that another reason why operators are losing drivers to other industries?

At arriva Majority of furloughed staff was volunteers and ones that had to stay off due to either health or age.
a lot of the reasons for shortage at the depot I work at is down to long term sickness where people are awaiting operations on the NHS and there operations have been either postponed or cancelled due to covid which is stopping them driving.
