Liverpool's Clean Air Plan
Since I'd prefer not to include bus talk related to the Clean Air Plan in separate threads, I've created a new one mainly for public transportation talk related to the clean air plan, feel free to move this to another section of the forum if it is needed. As already mentioned, there is the plans to introduce twenty new hydrogen powered double deckers for use on the 10A service between St. Helens and Liverpool, since the 10A is a QBP route, it's assumed that both Stagecoach and Arriva's St. Helens garage will receive ten each, with the hydrogen fuel facilities due to be built later in the year Source: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liv...g-20187577 Today, it has been reported that a £3.3 million plan has been approved to convert the engines of at least 200 buses, I'm presuming this will be on older buses since Arriva have at least 580+ buses and SCML having at least 400, I can't imagine buses such as the B5LH's between 2012 and 2017 or the MMC's getting conversions, though it could possibly be the nail in the coffin for aging Commanders, Cadets, and possibly the ALX400's but these are my assumptions. I would guess most of the funding will go on Pulsars, MANs, Scanias. Maybe even a small bit for HTL. |

The chances are then they'll either go to Birkenhead or St. Helens then, since there are a variety of services there that do not go to Liverpool. |

B5s are Hybrid and the majority of the MMCs at Gillmoss are Euro 6 so are very clean anyway |

The VDL Pulsars at most depots (Birkenhead definitely) have been retrofitted with Eminnox Euro 6 standard exhaust systems over the past year or so. 2903-2909 being an exception. |

Many of the Scania/Enviro400s have too, notable by the AdBlue filler flap near the emergency door. Even some of the Darts had Euro6 upgrades when they were at Chester - they still see occasional use at Gillmoss. buses7675 http://dartslf.com/ Light up, light up as if you have a choice,
