RE: First Manchester
That's another one to add to the long list of vehicle break downs at Oldham, I have been told that at one stage last week there were at least 20 vehicles off the road with various faults last week with various corrisponding running boards behind the desk in the Traffic Office, apparently engineering are struggling to get the vehicles back on the road.

I saw one on an evening weekday 83 early last week on it’s way to Oldham street, talking about playing with fire.

Looking at this, there seem to be a helluva lot of different single fares - most cheaper than Stagecoach's minimum, which is £2 on captive market routes. Do these sub £2 fares on First only actually cover a tiny minority of journey options, mostly on competitive corridors such as Rochdale Road, Bolton Road and Wilmslow Road?

RE: First Manchester
First changes confirmed on their website. Some changes appear to confirm the closure of Rusholme depot.

Service 42 between Middleton and Chorlton Street will be withdrawn and replaced by extended service 41, which will run 4 journeys per hour between Sale and North Manchester General Hospital with half-hourly extensions to Middleton. Sunday daytime journeys will run between Sale and North Manchester General Hospital, while evening journeys will run between Sale and Manchester with journeys to Sale starting from stand S (outside Wetherspoons).

Service 53 will be re-timed with some early morning/evening journeys that had been terminating at Gorton or Rusholme now extended to Salford or Cheetham Hill.

Service 33 will be reduced again, dropping to half-hourly, having being every 15 minutes until October and currently every 20 minutes.

Monday-Saturday daytime journeys on service 415 will be re-routed via Moston instead of Foxdenton Lane (avoiding a low bridge). No changes to evening journeys or the Stagecoach Sunday daytime service.

RE: First Manchester
Regarding the upcoming service changes for First I wonder what vehicle transfers are likely to happen when Rusholme Closes, am I right in thinking that the remaining Enviro400s will end up at Oldham Depot as I believe Queens Road engineering and driving staff aren't trained up on them so they won't go there, as for the Streetlites I'm guessing either Queens or Oldham but guessing Queens Road as they'll need them for 53s.

I'm also thinking that the 41 will end up being operated by either Gemini's or B7s looking at the reduction of 17s & 33s which will free up some vehicles to be used on other services

Also regarding the 415s I wonder whether deckers will start to be seen on the route now its avoiding the low bridge at Foxdenton Lane/Grimshaw Lane during the day.
