That's just it: in my case, it's often a big IF.

Maybe the average person is more likely than me to know in advance where and how they're going to travel on a given day. But, after all, a motorist isn't expected to formulate their travel plans in advance in order to get the best price for their fuel (*). Is it reasonable to expect bus passengers to do so?

(*) OK, I suppose the decision as to whether the car you buy is petrol/diesel/hybrid/electric is likely to be based on considering the nature of your future journeys, potentially years ahead. But I think the point still stands at a daily or weekly level.

This is absolutely ludicrous if true. The combined 15 min frequency with the 168/9 between Gorton and Ashton often turns into two buses at once every 30 minutes anyway - for the more unreliable 168 to become the only option is barmy.

Its around or should be every 3 transactions, I have not come across the Card used and wants a pin on the bus yet but I would guess it would Decline the payment. I guess Don't quote me on it but as said because there is no pin feature it may allow the payment though. SOmething that could be tested Big Grin

Services 104, 105 and 109 will be withdrawn and replaced by new services 102 and 103 between Airport/Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester.

There are new registrations for services 12 and 125 in Middleton (from First), services 81 (evening service from First) and 407 & 412 (possibly Sunday journeys from Rosso) in Oldham, 360 between Wigan and Newton-le-Willows (from Diamond) and the 370 Sunday service from Arriva.

Would also appear that they've lost the Monday-Saturday evening journeys on service 340 and evening journeys on service 425 to First. They've also lost the 13 and 283/285, which will be replaced by a new set of services around Altrincham, operated by Go Goodwins/Little Gem Bus.

Timetable changes on the following registrations: 7/7A, 15, 33, 38, 42/42A/42B, 43, 74/76/76A, 85/85A/86, 101, 111, 112/113/114/118 (also includes 80 - maybe resurrecting the number), 143, 168/169 (route and timetable), 191, 192/X92, 197, 201, 203, 216, 219/220/221, 236/237, 250/X50, 256/X58, 314, 322/324/327, 330, 345, 370, 375, 378, 380/381/382, 408, 540, 598, 600/601, 610, 631/632 and 658.

Correction, Rosso have been running the Sunday 412 service since last year, it interworks with 407.

Stagecoach have won the contract for operating 407 and 412 on Sundays and Bank Holidays from April 2017 - indications being that there will be slightly fewer journeys, and also the 408 on Sundays likely to be running 2-hourly frequency.

10844 was outside the front of Middleton garage with 118 route displayed.
