Hopefully 195X will have its regular driver for third consecutive year this time lol

Although a half hourly service is opertard it only stops at a few stations, so the 47 filling in the void ?

RE: Christmas & New Year Services 2017/18
Its the case that some areas notably in the former PTE areas do have a very reasonable offering on Boxing Day daytime and other areas notably the Shire Counties have hardly any service at all.

If it wasnt for the operators running the services commercially these days on Boxing day knowing they will still make a profit on them there would be NO service at all as Merseytravel and TfGM are increasingly short of money to fund the services any more .

For many years after deregulation the major operators claimed that it was unprofitable to run services over the Christmas period but as soon as the subsidies began to dry up these services became viable. The truth is that if there is public money available for private enterprise it will be gratefully received and accepted.

Not necessarily - Go South Coast is running a FULL Sunday service (except for the odd tendered route) in Bournemouth/Poole, Southampton and Swindon.

Oxfordshire is definately an exception: Stagecoach are running services all throughout the festive period on almost every route (not available online any more, they were available last week) including services on Christmas Day on two services!

For route 14a to be running every 20 minute to Kirkby on Boxing Day and New Year's Day, this is more frequent than the normal Mon-Sat daytime service!
