RE: Liverpool Corporation
(14/01/2014 00:00)Barney Wrote: According to my tattered copy of Fleet History: Liverpool Corporation Transport, L294,5 300, 3-9 were the unpainted ones from the stored batch of Leylands completed by MCW and delivered at the end of 1961. These were fitted with four saloon heaters (two up and two down) from new. I remember vividly getting one of the painted ones (L293) to school one cold and frosty morning. There are photos of unpainted A221 & A228 in the Liverpool Transport (Vol. 5) book by Horne & Maund. A total of 5 unpainted AECs from this batch is said to have been built - presumably the others were A230-232, as you wrote. |
