I think, but am not certain, that AECs A228, 30-32 delivered 10/59 were also unpainted. No doubt there was a post-war surplus of melted down RAF aircraft at the time.

There are photos of unpainted A221 & A228 in the Liverpool Transport (Vol. 5) book by Horne & Maund. A total of 5 unpainted AECs from this batch is said to have been built - presumably the others were A230-232, as you wrote.
