Sounds a case of give with one hand and take with the other hand , the service between Helsby and Ellesmere Port is effectively a parliamentary service.

If take into account the amount of services on the line Stanlow and Thornton is the least used station per train , when they ran (during the last period of the usuage figures there was a Northern Dispute - Which disrupted operations).
