The '173 Sefton Par' still exists as an option on the Mobitec screens but there is also a correct version reading '173 Greenbank Lane/Sefton Park' though sometimes the drivers seem to forget and still use the old setting.

RE: HTL Buses
Seen and rode on yesterday was a one of the former Nottingham Solos on the last 173 from Belle Vale-Liverpool, is it normal to get one of these on 173s as all the other Solos on the route seemed to be the newer short ones, also what does the bus do when it finishes in Liverpool, I'm guessing it runs dead back to depot or does it run out onto another service

The was an odd swap yesterday, W958 PAU was used on that duty instead of the usual bus Optare Solo SE-R YJ13 HJV - Not sure why as that was used on other routes (including the evening 196/147 along with YJ61 MOF) but you are correct that when this one finishes in Liverpool at 18.49 is runs back to the depot empty!

Another odd one on the 173/4 yesterday was TransBus Dart MPD DK04 SUH!

HTL 59 (SN06 BMZ) ADL MPD 8.8m/Pointer2 seen on 159-FAZAKERLEY HOSPITAL route today. It now has a red front bumper which looks at odds with the green bodywork.
I'd guess this is from The London Stripper, as seen here...

RE: HTL Buses
That really is an odd allocation, particularly for a Saturday when the route can fill the longer Solos with ease.
