Warrington's Own Buses
RE: WBT Network Warrington
Prefer the darts over these but I understand why these are going to replace the older buses.

You get used to it after a while, as there are similar interiors on the Eclipses and Solos, with the same red moquette on the low-floor deckers. Warrington has a historic association with red interiors: back in the 80s saw the ultimate expression of this with the East Lancs bodywork on X-suffix and A-prefix reg Dominators and Olympians, red staircases and cab bulkheads with red moquette seating with a W pattern matching the council logo at the time.

I last went to Warrington in March 2010, and I can tell I shall soon have plenty to ride. I refer to the ex-London double-deckers, the Solos and now the imminent Versas.

The Versas are slowly drifting into service: the one branded for the 'Centrelink' has been out on that route.

I won't be in Warrington for a few weeks yet, so I'm curious to know how patronage is on the 17(a)?
I imagine that the 17a is doing okay, but the daytime 17 will have very low patronage on the North-West section, but doing slightly better in the North-East?

RE: WBT Network Warrington
It's interesting that they're out on that route.
I noticed that a lot of the demonstrators went out on that route (in its former form and along with old sister service 4) much of the time too.

It seems as though none has yet gone out on the 17(a) or on the Wilderspool corridor, but there's plenty of time yet!

Thank you for letting me know the Versas are drifting into normal service and of the route in question (so far).

I changed buses at Leigh on the way back to Manchester last Saturday and was genuinely surprised to see Volvo B7TL 155 on route 28. I thought double-deckers only ran on Mons-Fris. If they work regularly on Saturdays now I may go to Warrington one Saturday rather than weekday early in the new year.
