RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Wrexham Depot
Strange that I use Sapphire one 4/5 times a week to get to work and haven't experienced any problems with the Enviro's for 8-9 months. it's common to see 2799 on there but that's to be expected when you have no spare buses for a route. I guess I must just have been really lucky seeing as they're such awful, horrid buses. |

To be honest Sapphire should only be used on new vehicles delivered from the manufacturers in that spec , seems those Enviro400's at Wrexham have not like the refurbishment they was given to get them into Sapphire Spec. |

I agree, really they should come in Sapphire rather than upgraded, particularly when they were at the age the enviro 400's were which was around 4-5 years old at the time (not old I know). As for the upgrade, well weren't the problems supposed to be electrical after the upgrade. The reason they probably weren't given new ones was probably partly down to funding, lets not forget that Arriva alone weren't paying for the upgrade and probably didn't get enough money to make them want to pay for new ones. |

(Quote)The ones at Bootle are fine 4421/22 were brilliant when they were still at LS but they will probably go downhill now, but even before 4402-4410 got here they were awful when 4401 came on Type training it broke down surely that says enough. But hopefully sooner or later Wrexham's Sapphire will get new buses hopefully. (Quote) When at Birkenhead the Enviro400s got maintained by the same staff, went out on the same routes (cross river) and all got used 7 days a week. I can't see how some of them in this case 4400-4410 could be any different to 4411-4422 when they left Laird Street. Nothing wrong with the ones that went to Bootle, maybe that's because they already knew the buses and had some of their own. |

RE: Arriva Buses Wales - Wrexham Depot
Last I had heard, many of the problems were indeed electrical and were as a result of the electronics being modified by the external contractor for the installation of the passenger power sockets. That was some time ago though. |
